It was one year ago this week when a predominantly black church was set on fire, just hours after Barack Obama was elected, but there are signs of rebuilding at the fire scene.

Bishop Bryant Robinson sat and reflected at the scene of where the nearly-completed Macedonia Church Of Christ once stood. He admitted the past year has not been easy.

"We have suffered a bit, disappointment, some doubt," Robinson said.

The doubt he spoke about was that their church would ever be rebuilt. One year ago this week, the building was set on fire. Bishop Robinson said he and the congregation turned to their faith to move on.

"He says if you build it I will bring pleasure; if you build it, I will be glorified. This facility will stand as a testimony to the faith of our God," Robinson said.

And re-building they are. Workers have poured the foundation, and as Robinson said, new life is beginning to blossom on the site that was once a crime scene.

As the rebuilding continues, so does the investigation. Three men face federal charges in the case, and if they are found guilty could face up to ten years in prison. The bishop said justice will prevail.

For now, they are focusing on moving on and opening the doors of their new church. Robinson said the walls should be up by next year.

"There will be celebration out here again," he said.
