An East Longmeadow man got quite the scare when he stepped out of his shower Wednesday morning. Police said that before he even had a chance to dry off, he found a stranger rummaging through his house.

Police said both the homeowner and burglar were very shocked to see each other. Apparently the burglar thought the house was empty. The homeowner chased him out of his house at 80 Stone Hill Road.

Police searched a wooded area behind the house and talked to neighbors. They found out that a tan sedan, likely a Carola or a Camry, fled from the area at a high rate of speed. The car had out-of-state plates. They may be from New York State.

Anyone with information is asked to call East Longmeadow Police at 525-5440.

On Tuesday I went home from work sick, and happened to see a tan car slowing/crawling in front of my house, pointing to mine and a neighbor's house set way in back. This was in Belchertown. I opened my curtains and stood there watching, They must have spotted me and quickly drove away.
