In Northampton Mary Clare Higgins will continue to hold her seat as mayor. Higgins opponent Michael Bardsley tried to take the seat out from under her but in the end conceded.

Although Bardsley captured more votes in the primaries Higgins came out on top in the race that counts. But it was very close, Higgins won by only 300 votes.

After her win Higgins spent time with her constituents at Paradise City Tavern where she told us about the campaign.

Higgins says, "It's a tough time, it's a tough time to be running as an incumbent when we've had many years of budget cuts. So, I'm grateful that the voters saw that I tried to do the responsible thing and chose to re-elect me."
