Daniel Knapik celebrated his victory in downtown Westfield at Piccolos Restaurant, owned by Gianpaolo and Donna Sesti. The city councilor beat Mayor Michael Boulanger by more than 450 votes.

Boulanger has been in office for one term. Knapik said winning the seat felt great after the long four month campaign, and he was thankful for all the support from the community.

He said once he is in office he wants to open up the line of communication between the Mayor's office and the public to get the city moving in the right direction.

Knapik is the brother of State Senator Michael Knapik.
