A University of Massachusetts Amherst student was rushed the hospital after being hit by a car on-campus while walking back to her dorm from the sports fields.

The spokesperson for the university said Allison Ingraham was in a crosswalk on Commonwealth Avenue between the Mullins Center and the new recreation center when a car struck her.

Ingraham suffered moderate injuries. She was treated at Cooley Dickinson then sent home.

She is a member of the marching band and was walking from practice when she was hit.
