A car crash on a road notorious for speeding left over 1400 residents without power Sunday night.

The accident happened around 9pm on the corner of Plumtree and Bradley Roads.

Witnesses say a car carrying two people were speeding before it hit the pole that knocked out power to hundreds.

The two victims were trapped inside the car and were extricated and taken to Baystate where they are in good condition.

Officials say seatbelts were a lifesaver to the victims.
