After 141 students called out sick, Meadow Brook School in East Longmeadow closed for the remainder of the week.

School officials have not confirmed that there is any H1N1 circulating, but the symptoms appear to be the same. Many of the Kindergarten to second grade students have severely high fevers of 103 degrees or more.

The students out sick amount to 25% of the school population. Other East Longmeadow schools are seeing high rates of flu-like symptoms, but none have been forced to close. School officials have not ruled out other schools closing, but they have not deemed that necessary at this time.

Local pharmacies have been flooded with calls. Not much, other than the basics, have been offered to concerned parents, but Stop and Shop in East Longmeadow are stocked with the prescription medicine Tamiflu. They do not have H1N1 vaccines.

Appears to be man made virus, why no investigation? Never hear anything about this at all, just scare everyone into submission...
