Real people are living part of their lives in a virtual world. On the internet there exists 24-hour ever changing lands, businesses and games.
Millions of people are logging on but millions more don't know they even exist.

Second Life is a whole world in cyberspace. And on any given moment there are millions of people logged on.
People build what are called an Avatar or a virtual persona. They can look similar to you or but they don't have to.

In Second Life, you can buy products. Sears and Circuit City are just two stores that have set up shop.

But Second Life is just one of many virtual worlds out there. They're called Massive Multi-Player Online Role-Playing Games.
Some others are Everquest, World of War Craft and for the kids, Club Penguin.
