Governor Deval Patrick holds a town meeting in Chicopee answering dozens of questions, and some of them came out of left field.

Dave Kopacz made his way from Ware to ask the Governor some questions.

"I had some questions about our economy," Kopacz says.

But the town hall meeting at the Chicopee Library didn't set it's focus there, instead it ran the gamut of questions, from a massage school, to shared parenting and medicinal marijuana.

It's Important to them, but probably not to the majority of Western Mass.

"It seemed like there were a lot of softball questions lobbed out there," Kopacz says.

A woman holding a sign protesting higher taxes was called upon, but she shifted gears when called upon.

"Make an effort to pass some of these family friendly laws and to accept money coming from the federal government to teach abstinence education," she asked the Governor.

A highlight came at the end with a Northampton man asking a thought provoking question about Biomass and forest cutting.

"We have energy trumping environment big time. Why is your administration allowing this," he asked.

The Governor's response:

"This picture would horrify anybody and it does me," Patrick says.

Patrick promised to look into it.

Overall, questions indirectly touched on the economy, but never, were questions on taxes aimed at the Governor. It's a question Kopacz wanted answered, so we asked about future tax hikes.

"It's a crummy time to raise taxes. Everybody's hurting, I certainly can't see adding to that. We're just going to have to figure it out and that might mean some very difficult choices but that's the time we're in and that's the job I have," Patrick says.

After the meeting, Governor Patrick praised the meeting saying he enjoyed the range of questions.
