It's been a month since Southwick selectman David St. Pierre was caught with a transgendered person and marijuana in a Springfield parking lot. It's a charge he's admitting to, but his selectman colleagues didn't want to hear it.

Tuesday was supposed to be the day David St. Pierre cleared the air. Weeks ago, he was cited for marijuana possession while in a car with a transgendered person.

St. Pierre told his side of the story moments after the fact-finding mission inside Southwick's Town Hall, came to a halt.

"Was there marijuana present, was a citation issued to both of us, yes," admits St. Pierre.

The selectman went on to say the incident was a big misunderstanding.

On June 3rd, Springfield Police spotted St. Pierre, in the Walgreens parking lot, where he appeared to be rolling a blunt inside his truck. His passenger was a transgendered individual.

St. Pierre says the unnamed transgendered person was an individual he was mentoring for several years. The selectman claims the person was struggling with various issues. St. Pierre says he was in the act of taking the drugs away from the person and was "trying to make some points" about the drugs, asking the person "if this is the way he really wanted to go," when the police showed up.

But the town and the town selectman wanted to know more. St. Pierre was in full disclosure-mode, and chose to make the meeting public.

"My plan is not to go into executive session," he stated.

But the free talk lasted less than 10 minutes. St. Pierre kept citing a newspaper article as a foundation, instead of retelling the story in his own words.

"I don't want to know what the Republican said that you said. I would like to hear from you personally," said Selectman Nicholas Boldyga.

Another Selectman, Art Pinnell, asked St. Pierre to reiterate the events inside the parking lot. And if St. Pierre didn't stick to the topic, Pinnell threatened to end the discussion.

"Then end it," St. Pierre said.

That, prompted the other two selectmen to shut down the talks.

Disgusted residents made a mad dash for the exits. They're upset their representative wasn't allowed to tell his side.

"The select persons who were running the meeting were very arrogant to do that and not allow us to. They just shut that right down, the communications," says Neilda Henke.

St. Pierre who excused himself from the meeting for a brief time, agreed.

"I don't think they really wanted to hear the facts of the story. Or the background of how I arrived at that point," he says.

Mr St.Pierre should tell the truth from his words not from the newspaper side. He should also remove himself from public office and working as a correctional officer. His trust is broken.

His trust is broken, a no vote of confidence in his leadership and disrespect for laws and the law enforcement community is enough to call for his resignation. This is not the type of person I want representing the residents of this town nor the town employees.

St. Pierre has sullied the Southwick Board of Selectmen with lies! I feel for the 22 yr. old transgendered person who's being used as a scapegoat by St. Pierre!

hard to believe this guy is not suspended from his selectman or correctional officer's duties...he has compromised his profession in a walgreens parking lot, which he admits........i wouldnt listen to it either, i would be voting on his impending removal pending the facts bore out in court and than make the appropriate arrangements for his exit......
