SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Springfield Fire Department
spokesman says a blaze that killed a city teenager and his
4-year-old brother began in an electrical box in the basement of
their home.

Spokesman Dennis Leger also says investigators believe the home
had no smoke detectors when it caught fire Saturday morning.
Seventeen-year-old Marshal Wood Jr. and his little brother, Malik
Bell, were found dead inside the home.

Leger says investigators are focusing on a junction box on the
basement ceiling. Officials are still investigating.

Authorities say the mother of the family, Melissa Bell Wood, and
her 19-year-old daughter were treated for smoke inhalation. Two
children are hospitalized in stable condition with burns, and four
other children who were not injured are with relatives.
