Michael Jackson's death has brought the focus back to the music. The pain is being felt by music lovers far and wide. In a Northampton record shop, Jackson fans tried to scoop up as many MJ vinyls as they could.

The records are on the shelf. "Off the Wall" is back on the wall, at the prime spot in Dynamite Records in Northampton. His death brings back childhood memories for some.

"I listened to him as a little kid. I had a lot of fun times listening to him. Inspirational because I'm an aspiring musician," says Jordan Singleton.

Jackson was an inspiration to those getting a start, and an inspiration for those who already made it. One can't ride the radio dials these days without hearing a song with a little MJ flavor.

"Chester French, I see several influences on Chester French on a group as a whole," says Lane Raymond.

His music spanned decades and is still relevant today.

"His music inspired everybody," Jose Pena says.

And his death, leaves a pit in the stomach of fans everywhere.

"I saw the headline and my jaw just dropped," Raymond says, describing the moment he read the news.

A legend is lost. Over the last two days, young music lovers, growing up with the king of pop, are stopping for a minute, escaping the saturated top 40, to realize no one will ever match his greatness.

"it's a little bit of everything. The wackiness and the music. Because all of it together makes Michael Jackson," Singleton says.

"Michael Jackson was undoubtedly the king of pop. I don't see anyone who will carry the torch," says Raymond.
