A family from Holyoke is mourning the loss of a son and a brother.

Early Monday evening, 33-year old Jason Crochetiere was killed while riding his mini-motorcycle.

Crochetiere collided with a truck at the intersection of North Bridge and Ely Street, his sister says as soon as she saw it, she knew it was bad.

"Then he went underneath the truck, and I knew right then and right there he was gone," said Jason's sister Cheryl.

The gas-powered mini motorcycles are sometimes called pocket bikes.

They're legal to buy, but not legal to ride on the streets.

Like any vehicle, they can be dangerous, as Crochetiere's family learned first hand.

"He was my only son, I have three girls, he was my only son," said Crochetiere's mother Marie.

His family described him a kind hearted, gentle and giving person, who always tried to lend a helping hand.

Jason's sister Cheryl is still expecting the phone to ring, and hear her brother on the other end. "I'm going to be so lost without him, he calls everyday and I'm just waiting for his phone call."

Crochetiere was not wearing a helmet when the crash happened.

Holyoke police say the driver of the pickup truck was not at fault, and hasn't been issued any citations.

Melissa, sorry for your loss, however if you want to criticize grammar maybe you should spell things RIGHT, not WRITE!

If you are going to write about a person make sure you spell the last name write. In some some lines you spelled correct other's you did not. Crochetiere is the correct spelling and they had for daughter's. Not 3. I;m the cousin of the victim
