Fatal Bicyclist Accident

An Amherst woman is dead after she was struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle. Amherst police tell us the accident happened on University Drive right in front of the popular Hangar Pub & Grill restaurant.

The 34 year old woman was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton where she was pronounced dead. Her identity is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

Specifics regarding the accident are not being releases pending the completion of the investigation.

No arrests have been made at this time.
