Nancy Kotowitz Club Manger Nancy Kotowitz say's, "A lot of people were upset about it, all the members, and they were all gathering around us to support us."

Shaker Farm Country Club employees and member's can breath a sigh of relief. They're beloved club was supposed to be up for auction at 11:00Friday morning after the two families who own it, the Kotowitz's and the Zupco's couldn't come to an agreement on the property's future.
But last night the two families finally came to an agreement which means the auction's off and the 18 hole golf course will remain as is.

Banquet Manager Bobby Buzzeo says, "I think deep down we knew it wasn't going to, we hoped it wasn't going to and we're happy that it didn't."

The country club has been a part of Westfield for year's and it's been a second home to many members.

Kotowitz says, "We have members that have been here for 50 years if you can believe that so there is a lot of history here just with just the members."

Not to mention the community. For years people have held everything from holiday parties to weddings at the club.

Buzzeo says, "We're going to move on with all of our events for the holiday's and weddings and Christmas and New Years, we're already booking for next year."

And it's not the first hardship Shaker Farms has dealt with.
In 1970 a fire destroyed the entire club house which has since been rebuilt. Members say if a fire can't take them down, nothing will.

Buzzeo says, "It's an established club and people have been coming here for years, long before I probably was even around and everyone here has a little history and they will tell you a little something about what was and what is."
