The bustle on the UMass-Amherst campus is halted after a student is hit by a car.

UMass Police say the 25 year old management graduate student was hit at around 6:00 Thursday night on Massachusetts Ave.

Police say Li Cai was crossing the street in front of the Fine Arts Building in the crosswalk.

One car apparently saw her and stopped for her but another car ran right into her sending her 20 feet into the air. Police say no brakes were applied and they think the driver could not see her because of sun glare.

Cai was rushed to Baystate Medical Center but her condition has not been released
