His actions sent a scare through the school community, which acted fast to get him away from the other kids.

"I got a message stating there had been an incident at the junior high," said Albert Flynn.

That's part of the phone message Albert Flynn received Wednesday morning. He's a parent of a seventh grader at Agawam Junior High School. Parents were notified of a twelve year old student who posted death threats to six fellow classmates on the YouTube website.

Superintendent of Agawam schools, Dr. Mary Czajkowski says a student heard about the threat, told her mother, who then called police. Within hours, the twelve year old was arrested.

"Takes a lot of courage to call and report this and we are trying to educate parents and students to be vigilant to report these things," said Dr. Mary Czajkowski.

Whether it was a prank or not, this isn't something school officials take lightly. The student is suspended indefinitely and was not in school today. He faces a felony charge of crimes against public peace.

Nearly a year ago, an Agawam High School student threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot his friends. That situation raised the level of awareness.

"It is unfortunate in this day and age something like this can happen, but because it was reported and we acted quickly we averted a potentially tragic situation," said Dr. Mary Czajkowski.
