Just as she has for the past three years, Tammie Minney walked through the doors of the Sav More gas station and convenience store ready for her shift. She stands behind a plexiglas wall, working the register as customers come through. She's says she's never felt unsafe at work before and maybe she still would if had remembered to lock the door behind her. Around 9:20 Sunday night two men came into the store looking to rob it.

Tammie Minney says, "Next thing I knew a guy grabbed me by the hair put a gun to my head and brought me over to the register and said open the register and I hit the wrong button, which wasn't good because he said you've got until 3 and he started counting, 1, 2."

Luckily Minney's friend, Eddie had stopped by to give her a hand. He was in the back room when he heard the commotion.

Edward Baladinakis says, "I just grabbed him by the neck, I started fighting with him and pushing him backwards trying to get him back there and then I told the lady that works here to call the cops."

But the suspect had an accomplice who came from behind the counter and punched and kicked Eddie until he let go.

Baladinakis says, "I chased them outside of the store and half way down the street and what was it but his friend was yelling shoot him shoot him."

Both subjects fled the store and got into a white Ford van with green lettering on the side. Minney says she doesn't know what might have happened no one was there to help, "He was just helping me out and god what a time to help me out, to be there."

The Springfield Detective Bureau is investigating the case. So far, no arrests have been made.
