An alleged serial rapist who lured his victims to a secluded location is under arrest. Police say the attacks happened at Springfield's Riverfront Park.

"He prowled the area, he would meet someone, talked to them, gained a friendship, and caught them off guard, he's a predator, " says Sgt. John Delaney of the Springfield Police Department.

Two women severely beaten and raped, after police say meeting 27-year-old Anthony Hall. Early Thursday morning, a woman stumbled from Springfield's Riverfront Park and flagged down police, saying she had been raped on a picnic table.

Just last week, another woman had the same story, beaten and raped in the park after meeting a man who bought her something to eat. "The subject's first attack involved a screwdriver to beat the victim up, " adds Delaney.

But it was the quick thinking actions by Springfield police that resulted in Hall's arrest. They gathered evidence from both witnesses and were able to get a description of the alleged predator and his first name.

Four hours later, Hall was arrested on State Street. Hall has been charged with rape, assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
