Former Student Gets Probation in Bomb Threat

At the front of Agawam High is a body outlined in chalk, with the word, "me," inscribed inside. Obviously not serious here, but when 18 year old Ryan Osborne made threats about shooting up the high school and firebombing the school, it was a lot more serious. Less than a year has passed and today, he's out on probation.

"It might have been the right decision to give him a second chance," says father Frank Nitri.

"I do believe everyone deserves a second chance, but this was serious," mother Barbara Nitri says.

A family divided over the Osborne's fate. The Nitri's have a freshman at Agawam High and their son actually heard the threats Osborne is said to have made.

"Something's going to happen. If you're my buddy, don't come to school. I'm going to do this. I'm going to finally do this and I'm going to follow through," their son Anthony Nitri recalls.

Spine tingling statements from a fellow student and it wasn't the first time. Before this, Osborne had another run in with the law. He was already on probation for throwing a Molotov cocktail at a local skate park last year and his past, made parents afraid for their children's future.

"I'm frightened, and it could happen again. This time he might follow through," Barbara Nitri says.

Under the probation, Osborne will not be allowed near Agawam High and will need to undergo court ordered counseling.
