Police say a fight over a loaf of bread left 52-year-old William Donaldson of Turners Falls dead. The argument all started at a boarding house at 149 Seymour Ave.

According to police, 59-year-old Lee Wilkins and his housemate 62-year-old Tom Webb got into a fight over the bread earlier in the week, in which Wilkins was reportedly beaten. But police say Friday night he wanted to settle the score. That's when they say he stabbed Webb, and then stabbed and killed Webb's nephew, William Donaldson.

Residents in the area are in shock. "It's very frightening that it's happened and especially I've heard it was a home invasion and if that's the case it's really really frightening, " says Kerry Schnorf.
Frightening because residents say the neighborhood is normally quiet.

They say a few years back it had its share of problems, but things were getting better, until now. "About 5 years ago there was a lot of trouble there was people that didn't really belong in the area and we had a few shootings, " adds Schnorf.

Wilkins was arrested and charged with murder. Webb was also charged with assault and battery. Both men are being held without bail. They will be in court on Monday.
