Snowmobile Salute

By Liz Tufts

Hundreds of people hopped on their snowmobiles in Goshen on Sunday to honor the memory of a local teen who lost his life three months ago in a car accident. "He was loved by everybody, a kid you just won't forget, " says Justin LeBeau. And that love was evident as hundreds of people gathered in Goshen to remember Tyler Hewes. The 15-year-old was killed in a car accident in November. On Sunday, hundreds took to the snowy paths for a snowmobile run in memory of him.

"This is a small town and we are like a big family we all are pulling together and come together as one, " says Lebeau.

And the ride wasn't just for Tyler. The snowmobile run now honors three other hill town residents who were killed in car and snowmobile accidents over the years. Five-years ago, Debbie Turner's son Brian was killed when he lost control of his snowmobile. She says the ride helps her get through the pain.

"We want people to remember them because so often people just forget after somebody passes away so we do that to remember them, " says Debbie Turner.

But forgetting Tyler Hewes many say would be impossible. They say his big smile, and warm heart will always shine on.

"He would be here with a big smile on his face, he loved the outdoor and he's probably looking down on us smiling, " adds LeBeau.
