The spooky, the scary and the creepy are all being hunted Monday night. The crew of "Sci-Fi's Ghost Hunters", a national TV show, is investigating a Belchertown library.

They couldn't have picked a better night to do it as the rain steadily fell on the Gothic roof of the Belchertown library.

"Full bodied apparitions, people walking up and down the stairs," are just some of the things night custodian Jacques Benoit has seen.

He's been working at the library on South Main Street for nine years, and almost immediately since he started he's felt he wasn't alone. "A gentleman, three times, I've seen walking up and down the stairs, books sliding in and out and cold spots," he says.

Benoit says he's always had a feeling the library was haunted. He recalls his first experience nine years ago, like it just happened. "Grayish mist came into me and I breathed in chains and I just felt I wasn't myself," he recalls.

Now, Benoit says it's just a common occurrence. In fact, he says a week won't go by without seeing something paranormal.

"I would say everyday to every other day, something will happen to me," he says.

Nine years was enough. Benoit was beginning to question his sanity, so he called upon TAPS to investigate. They're spending the night with night vision cameras, microphones and temperature gauges to try to catch what Benoit's seen. Real or not, we don't know, but one thing is for sure, the mention of ghosts drew a crowd as two people came to check out what was going on.

The crew is spending the night taping the show. There's no word on when their investigation about the library will air.
