On Saturday, November 28, 2009 the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke, Inc. will return to the ring as hosts of “Fury in Fight Town” in what hopes to be a new beginning and revival of the sport of boxing and mixed martial arts in Holyoke. The event will be held at 70 Nick Cosmos Way, Holyoke, MA (Headquarters of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke). Doors open at 6:00pm and the action starts at 7:00pm!

The Boys & Girls Club was once home of Western Massachusetts’s Golden Gloves Tournaments for nearly 50 years. Holyoke is where such fighters as Rocky Marciano, Moochie Starling, and Mike Tyson fought. The night kicks off with six amateur boxing bouts and six amateurs MMA fights, then finishes strong with two exciting professional MMA fights. These two professional MMA fights are featuring two fighters from Brazil who are making their pro American debut in Holyoke…. History Begins Again!!
