Michael A. Carosello is a 29-year-old who needs a heart transplant. The treatment for his childhood Hodgkin’s disease cured the Hodgkin’s but damaged his heart. As a result, he finds himself on the waiting list for a heart transplant.

Insurance will cover the costs of his inpatient treatment, but many out-of-pocket expenses remain. We estimate that he will need a minimum of $25,000 to cover the cost of unreimbursed medical expenses, bi-weekly visits back to Boston for follow-up care, and funds to cover lost wages during his 24-month recovery period.

This benefit will take place on July 20, 2008 at Elks Lodge West Springfield,
MA. We are charging $20.00 per person for this event, and ticket sales are already brisk.

We are hoping that you will help Michael during this difficult time. Financial contributions or in-kind donations will underwrite the cost of the event, allowing 100% of the proceeds to benefit Michael. All donors will be recognized at the event, as well as in all event publicity. Special recognition as a “Heartfelt Contributor” will be given to those contributing $250 in cash or in-kind donations or more.
